How do I pair my Banshee with the remote control?

I have just purchased the AVATAR NFCBA02 Wireless Remote Controller and Banshee. I have turned on both the Banshee and the remote control, but the wings are not flapping when I press the top trigger button on the remote control. I suspect that my Banshee is not paired with the remote control. How can I pair them?
