To install the Hunter 19686, 19687 Gatz light fixture, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power: Before starting the installation, turn off the circuit breakers to the outlet box associated with the wall switch location to avoid electrical shock.
2. Grounding: Ensure that the lighting fixture is properly grounded. If the ground wire is not present at the installation site, consult a qualified electrician.
3. Wiring: All wiring must be done in accordance with national and local electrical codes. If you are unsure about wiring, it is recommended to consult a qualified electrician.
4. Prepare for installation: Remove all contents from the carton. Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture from the wall, including the old mounting bracket. Take out the new mounting bracket assembly from the bag.
5. Adjust mounting plate position: Remove the cap nuts from the mounting screws. Place the mounting plate over the junction box so that the mounting screws and nuts extend away from the wall. Adjust the position of the mounting screws so that they can be exposed 5-6 mm after passing through the back plate. Tighten the nuts on the front of the mounting plate to secure the mounting screws.
6. Secure mounting plate: Pull the house wires through the center of the mounting plate and secure the mounting plate to the junction box by tightening the screws.
7. Connect the wires: Have a helper support the fixture's weight while completing the wiring. Connect the fixture's wires to the power supply wires from the junction box: black to black (Live), white to white (grounded), and grounding to grounding (green or copper). Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and secure with a wire connector. If there is no ground wire from the junction box, contact a qualified electrician.
8. Finish the installation: Place the fixture's back plate over the mounting screws and tighten the cap nuts until the back plate is snugly against the wall. Align the notches in the glass with the tabs in the lamp cup and attach the glass by lifting and turning clockwise. Install a light bulb (not included) according to the fixture's specifications. Do not exceed the recommended wattage.
9. Testing and cleaning: Turn on the power and test the fixture. For cleaning, turn off the light and wipe down the fixture with a clean lint-free cotton or microfiber cloth. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the fixture.
Note: Ensure that the glass is properly secured to prevent any risk of injury or damage.
