To set up the Leggett & Platt Bas-X HCS Adjustable Base, follow these steps:
1. Open the shipping carton and carefully lift the adjustable base out of the carton, placing it on a clean surface. Unfold the base and remove the hardware box, leg box, and protective plastic.
2. Cut all orange zip-ties and set the mattress retainer aside.
3. Slide the bed latch plates over to connect the base sections.
4. xxxx all legs into the threaded inserts, hand tightening them.
5. Extend the power cord out of the head end of the base and remove the protective covering from the power cord plug.
6. Flip the base onto the legs.
7. If applicable, install batteries in the remote control.
8. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
9. Operate the remote control to test the base functions. Refer to the Remote Control User Guide for programming instructions.
10. Lower the base to the flat position.
Note: It is recommended to use an electrical surge protection device (not included) for added safety.
USB Ports:
- Your base may have USB ports on each side of the head end. These ports are for charging low-voltage devices like cell phones and tablets directly from the base.
- Before entering or exiting the base, remove the USB charging cord and/or power cord from the USB charging station.
- Use the device manufacturer-recommended charging cable to charge your device. Using unapproved charging cables is a fire hazard.
Optional:
- Your base may have a Micro-Hook™ system to hold the mattress in place, but you can still use a wire mattress retainer. Insert the mattress retainer into the holes at the foot end of the base.
