To install the Dongguan Yujie Electronic Technology YJ-C01 RV Door Keyless Handle Lock, follow these steps:
1. Remove the existing handle: Securely latch your RV door in the open position. Remove the 4 screws from the back of the existing handle. Remove the 2 screws and the strike plate from the side of the door. This will allow you to remove the front portion of the handle.
2. Install the new keyless handle: Carefully remove the new RV Lock from its packaging and place all the parts on a flat, non-abrasive surface. Remove the 2 screws holding the battery cover and install 4 AA alkaline batteries. Slide the front handle of the new RV Door Lock into the opening on the front of the door, while pulling the wires ahead of the lock and through the opening. Attach the new strike plate with the 2 shorter screws on the door jamb side. Connect the battery wires to the front handle. Attach the back handle while tucking excess wires into the void area. Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to install the 4 longer screws, tightening them enough to keep the lock securely against the door. Adjust and straighten the front handle, then fully tighten the 4 longer screws of the back handle.
3. Program the lock: Type in the numeric code (default code is "1234") and press the "LOCK" button to ensure the handle is functioning correctly. If the keypad does not function correctly, press the "code reset" button on the back handle until you hear a long beep, which will reset the keypad code to "1234".
To program the Fob/Remote, turn the switch to "ON" at the back of the handle. Press the "FOB Learn" button on the back of the handle until you hear a short, quick beep. Press the LOCK button on your remote until the handle confirms synchronization with a long beep. Press the LOCK/UNLOCK remote button to confirm the actuation of the deadbolt on your RV Door Handle Lock.
To program the keypad, hold down the "8" button and simultaneously press the "LOCK" button. Release both buttons when you hear a long confirmation beep. Type in the existing code (default code is "1234") and then press the "LOCK" button. Type in the new code, press the "LOCK" button, type in the same new code, and press "LOCK" again. A long confirmation beep confirms your new programming.
For battery use and replacement, remove the 2 screws holding the battery cover on the back of the handle and install 4 AA alkaline batteries. When replacing the batteries, use high-quality and fully charged alkaline batteries. Remove the batteries when not in travel season to save battery life and avoid handle damage.
