To determine the size of the fabric for making a rectangular bow pillow, you will need to cut two pieces of fabric that are three times the width of the pillow insert and the pillow height plus two seam allowances (SA). For example, if you have a 16"x12" pillow insert, you would cut the fabric to be 48"x13". It is recommended to use contrasting fabrics for the front and back of the pillow.
Once you have the fabric cut to the appropriate size, you can proceed with pinning the fabric's right sides together and sewing around all four sides, leaving a hole for turning. After turning the fabric right side out and pressing it, you can insert the pillow form and close the hole in your preferred method.
