To connect the patient circuit to the ABM Alpha Ventilator, follow these steps:
1. Determine the type of patient circuit you will be using:
- A Single Limb circuit
- A Dual Limb circuit
- A Dual Limb circuit with Active Humidifier
2. Once you have determined the type of circuit, proceed with the following steps:
a) For a Single Limb circuit:
- Connect the patient circuit to the patient inhalation port on the ventilator.
- Connect the patient circuit to the patient exhalation port on the ventilator.
b) For a Dual Limb circuit:
- Connect the inspiratory limb of the patient circuit to the patient inhalation port on the ventilator.
- Connect the expiratory limb of the patient circuit to the patient exhalation port on the ventilator.
c) For a Dual Limb circuit with Active Humidifier:
- Connect the inspiratory limb of the patient circuit to the patient inhalation port on the ventilator.
- Connect the expiratory limb of the patient circuit to the patient exhalation port on the ventilator.
- Connect the active humidifier to the appropriate port on the patient circuit, as per the manufacturer's instructions.
Please note that it is important to use only ABM-approved and supplied parts for the patient circuit connection. Attaching unapproved devices or storage media to any of the ports may damage the system.
