To calibrate the SPER SCIENTIFIC 300005 Lightweight Portable Clinical Refractometer, follow these steps:
1. Open the COVER PLATE to access the prism.
2. Clean the prism with a soft cloth to avoid scratching the surface.
3. Aim the refractometer towards a light source and rotate the EYEPIECE to obtain the clearest focus.
4. Perform the Zero Point Calibration:
a. Open the COVER PLATE.
b. Apply a few drops of the included pure distilled water onto the PRISM platform.
c. Close the COVER PLATE.
d. Turn the CALIBRATION xxxx until the dark and light boundary line coincides with the bottom line of the scale (1.3330, W, and 1.000, respectively).
5. Carefully dry the prism platform and COVER PLATE.
6. The refractometer is now calibrated and ready for use.
Note: It is important to ensure that the temperature of the zero point calibration is the same as the test solution. If there are variations in temperature, the zero point should be adjusted once every 30 minutes.
