To use the Fluke 2AC Non-Contact Voltage Tester to test for voltage, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the tester is in working condition by using the Battery Check function or checking the unit on a known live source before and after use.
2. Hold the tester by the integrated clip design, optimized for pocket storage.
3. Approach the tip of the tester to the area where you suspect voltage is present, such as an outlet, terminal strip, or power cord.
4. The tip of the tester will glow red when it detects voltage within the range of 90 to 1000 V AC. This indicates the presence of voltage.
5. Move the tester along the suspected voltage source to determine the extent of the voltage presence.
6. Always exercise caution and follow safety guidelines when working with electricity.
