To install the FREDRICK RAMOND FR30103HBR LED Semi-Flush Mount, follow these steps:
1. Find a clear area to work and unpack the fixture and glass from the carton.
2. Review the instructions carefully before starting the assembly.
3. If you want to hang the fixture using stems, determine the desired hanging height and thread the necessary stems together. Connect the bottom stem to the bottom loop and use the middle link to connect the top canopy loop and bottom loop. The fixture is now ready for mounting.
4. If you want to mount the fixture as a semi-flush, secure the provided small stem directly to the canopy and the top of the fixture. If mounting as a pendant, use fiberglass sleeving to cover the wires that thread through chain links.
5. Shut off the electrical current before starting the installation. If the fixture you are replacing is controlled by a wall switch, simply turn the switch off. If not, remove the appropriate fuse or open the circuit breakers until the fixture is dead.
6. To assemble the fixture, take the canopy with the stem and slip the wires exiting from the top of the fixture body through the center of the stem. Thread the canopy and stem onto the top of the fixture body. The fixture is now ready for installation.
7. To mount the fixture to the ceiling, thread the two long 8-32 screws provided into the mounting strap, making sure they match the mounting hole spacing on the canopy. Attach the mounting strap to the junction box using two 8-32 screws (not provided). Note that due to the weight of the fixture, it is supplied with a safety cable that must be attached to a joist or a structure independent of the junction box. Follow the instruction sheet provided for safety cable installation.
8. Make all necessary wiring connections following the instruction sheet provided. Lift the fixture up to the ceiling, slip the screws through the holes in the canopy, push the wires into the junction box, and hold the canopy against the ceiling. Thread the barrel knobs onto the screws and tighten them to secure the fixture to the ceiling.
9. After the fixture is hung, you can install the glass panels. Remove the barrel xxxx with the threaded stud from the top rail of the fixture body. Align the threaded hole in the top rail with the hole in the top of the glass panel. Thread the barrel xxxx with the stud into the threaded hole, ensuring the plastic washer is between the glass panel and the base of the barrel xxxx . Continue adding panels around the fixture until all panels are installed.
10. If you want to use a 0-10 volt LED dimmer, consult an electrician for additional wiring installation from the dimmer switch to the fixture. Follow the wiring instructions provided in the manual for the 0-10 volt dimmer.
11. If using an incandescent dimmer, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure to cap off the gray and purple wires from the fixture inside the canopy to prevent shorting out and causing the fixture to fail.
12. Refer to the instruction sheet provided for safety cable installation if you need to attach the safety cable to a ceiling joist or other permanent structure independent of the junction box.
13. Finally, refer to the instruction sheet (I.S. 18) for making all necessary wiring connections between the supply wire and the fixture lead wires.
