To set up the DC2110A Synchronous Micropower Step Down Regulator for evaluation, follow these steps:
1. Place JP1 on the GND position.
2. With the power off, connect the input power supply to the VEMI and GND terminals. If the EMI/EMC performance is not important, you can bypass the input EMI filter by connecting the input power supply to the VIN and GND terminals.
3. With the power off, connect the loads from the VOUT to the GND terminals.
4. Turn on the power at the input, making sure that the input voltage does not exceed 100V.
5. Check for the proper output voltage (VOUT = 5V). If there is no output, temporarily disconnect the load to make sure that the load is not set too high or is shorted.
6. Once the proper output voltage is established, adjust the load within the operating ranges and observe the output voltage regulation, ripple voltage, efficiency, and other parameters.
7. If you want to use the SYNC function, an external clock can be added to the SYNC terminal by moving JP1 to the SYNC position. Make sure that the chosen RT sets the LT8631 switching frequency to 10% below the lowest SYNC frequency.
Please refer to the DC2110A User Manual for more detailed information and diagrams on setting up the regulator for evaluation.
