To install the Spruce SDB110P Duct Boost Pressure Sensing Kit, follow these steps:
1. Mount the auxiliary fan: Attach the bracket to a mounting structure using the provided 1-inch screws. Insert the grommets into the slotted holes in the mounting bracket. Attach the fan to the mounting bracket using the provided self-tapping screws. Avoid over-tightening the screws.
2. Connect the ductwork: Connect the ductwork between the outlet of the primary device and the inlet of the fan. Connect the outlet of the fan to the termination ductwork. Seal the connections with duct tape or a similar means.
3. Install the automatic pressure switch: Mount the pressure switch vertically on a wall surface as close to the outlet of the primary device as possible. Mount the duct probe through the duct and connect it to the pressure switch using the provided tubing.
4. Perform electrical wiring: All wiring must be done in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local building codes. It is recommended to hire a qualified and licensed electrician for this task. Make electrical connections to the pressure switch and auxiliary fan as shown in the provided schematic.
5. Troubleshooting: If the auxiliary fan fails to start when the device begins, check the AC voltage at the pressure switch. The pressure switch-point should be approximately 0.1" WC. If not, check the probe and connecting tubing for blockage. If the auxiliary fan cycles on and off after the device cycle begins, the fan may be generating sufficient negative pressure to overcome the positive pressure generated by the device. Relocate the auxiliary fan further from the device and recheck.
