No, you should not use rock salt in the Handy THS80 Push Broadcast Spreader. The manual clearly states that using rock salt in this spreader will damage the mechanism and shorten the life of the product. Refined ice melting salt can be used, but please be aware that this spreader is not specialized for salt spreading and using salt may corrode the spreader and reduce its lifespan. After using refined de-icing salt, it is important to clean the spreader thoroughly.
