To replace the battery in your MacBook Air 13 Inches Thunderbolt 3, please follow the steps outlined in the user manual provided. Here is a summary of the battery replacement procedure:
1. Before starting, make sure your MacBook is completely turned off and the battery is discharged to at least 20%.
2. Use a Pentalobe P5 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the bottom case.
3. Lift the bottom case from the rear until you hear and feel the securing clips disengage.
4. Disconnect the battery connector by using a spudger to push against the ridge in the battery cable connector until it releases from the socket. Do not use the locking lever to lift the battery connector.
5. Disconnect the keyboard/trackpad cable connector by removing the screws securing the connector bracket and carefully levering the connector directly up from the logic board.
6. Loosen the Keyboard/Trackpad cable from the battery.
7. Remove the speakers by removing the screws and carefully pulling the adhesive strips to release them.
8. Remove the adhesive strips securing the battery.
9. Remove the two Torx T3 screws securing the battery to the housing.
10. Carefully remove the battery while keeping the trackpad/keyboard cable out of the way.
11. Install the new battery by applying adhesive strips to the raised sections on each side of the housing, aligning the battery with the xxxx holes, and securing it with the screws.
12. Reinstall the speakers using the replacement adhesive strips provided.
13. Reconnect the keyboard/trackpad cable and secure it with the connector bracket and screws.
14. Reconnect the battery connector and ensure the locking lever is all the way down.
15. Reinstall the bottom case by aligning the screws and pressing it down until the securing clips engage.
16. Calibrate the new battery by fully charging it to 100%, keeping it on charge for an additional 2 to 3 hours, and then using the MacBook on battery power until it enters sleep mode due to low battery charge. Leave it overnight or for at least 5 hours and then charge the battery to 100%.
17. If you experience any issues after the battery replacement, it is recommended to reset the PRAM and SMC.
