To install the PHYLRICH PHY1137 3-4 Medi Thermostatic Valve, it is recommended to hire a licensed professional plumber. However, if you choose to install it yourself, please follow these instructions:
1. Thoroughly read the instruction manual before installation.
2. Ensure that the valve is not installed upside-down. If it is installed upside-down, a reverse cartridge is not available, and the valve must be removed and reinstalled right-side up.
3. The valve is designed with two outlets, but they are not intended to be used concurrently. Using both outlets will reduce the performance of the valve.
4. Recommended supply pressure is 20 to 80 psi (1.38-5.52 bar).
5. Recommended hot water supply temperature is 120° to 140°F (48°-60°C).
6. The operating pressures between hot and cold supplies should not vary more than 30 psi (2.07 bar). If water pressure exceeds 70 psi (4.83 bar), install a pressure-reducing valve.
7. Ensure that the mixing valve is in compliance with local plumbing codes when setting the temperature on the water heater.
8. It is the installer's responsibility to verify the correct temperature setting to prevent any risk of scalding before consumer use.
9. The valve is suitable for use with shower heads rated at 1.8 gpm (6.8 L/min) or higher.
10. The valve has female 3/4" NPT inlets and outlets.
11. The factory temperature setting is 100°F (38°C), and the temperature range is 52° to 118°F (11°-48°C).
12. The temperature of the hot supply should be between 149° to 180°F (65°-82°C), and the temperature of the cold supply should be between 50° to 72°F (10°-22°C).
13. The temperature stability of the valve is compliant with ASSE 1016.
Please note that these are general installation guidelines, and it is always best to refer to the specific instructions provided in the manual for your model.
