To set up the FishHunter™ Drive on your NAVPilot 300 Autopilot with Gesture Control, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your vessel meets the requirements for FishHunter™ Drive, including having a compatible Suzuki outboard motor with Precision Control (SPC 2.0) support, a hydraulic or electronic vessel control system (EVCS) installed, and the necessary components listed in the user guide.
2. Connect the NAVPilot-300 to the NMEA2000 Network backbone, along with the associated sensors and the Suzuki Gateway.
3. If you have the FAP-AR4502 Rudder Angle Indicator installed, make sure it is adjusted properly to avoid any errors.
4. In the NAVpilot-300 menu, go to [Installation] - [Ship's Characteristics] and select the appropriate steering system type (e.g., [Outboard] for hydraulic steering or [EVCS-Outboard] for EVCS enabled steering systems).
5. If you have a FAP-AR4502 Rudder Reference Unit installed, select [Linear Sensor] as the rudder sensor. If you don't have a Rudder Reference Unit, select [Fantum Feedback].
6. Proceed to the [Dockside Setup Menu] and set up the [Drive Unit] for your specific steering pump type (e.g., [Reversible 24V] or [Reversible 12V]).
7. Adjust the [Auto Rudder Limit] under [Dockside Setup] to avoid triggering a rudder angle error. Set it to a range of about -5 degrees less than the value set for [Rudder Limit Setup].
8. Configure the [Engine Setup] settings, including the maximum vessel speed under [Boat Speed Settings] and the planing speed and lever position.
9. Once the initial settings are completed, proceed to the [Sea Trial] menu and select [Boat Speed Settings]. Set the maximum vessel speed and the planing speed and lever position based on the instructions provided in the user guide.
10. Make sure to attach the supplied warning labels in visible locations on your vessel.
11. If necessary, update the software for the NAVPilot-300 processor unit, control unit(s), and GC-001 unit(s) following the instructions provided in the user guide.
Note: Do not activate FishHunter™ Drive without a compatible Suzuki motor with Gateway attached, as the functions will be disabled.
