To set up the MobilitySound GPS Dongle for Kenwood Nexedge Mobile Radio, follow these steps:
1. Connect the programming cable between your PC and the device, then run the software KPG-111D.
2. Select the appropriate COM Port. Note that the COM Port may vary depending on your computer.
3. Read data from the transceiver by pressing the "Read" button in the software. This will download data from the transceiver to your PC.
4. In the software, go to "Edit" and select "Optional features" and then "Optional features 1".
5. Check the settings for Common Page 1, Common Page 2, and Page 3. Set the COM Port 2 for GPS and the Baudrate to 9600 (as mentioned in the GPS Baudrate section of the manual).
6. Check the settings for Common Page 4 and make any necessary adjustments.
7. Press the "close" icon to finish the settings for Optional Feature 1.
8. In the software, go to "Optional" and select "Optional Feature 2". Then, select "GPS" and press the "close" icon.
9. Go to "Key Assignment" and select "Menu". Add the "GPS Position Display" item to the function list.
10. Press "closed" to finish the key assignment settings.
11. Finally, press the "Write" button in the software to upload the settings to your transceiver.
Once the setup is complete, you can power on the Kenwood Nexedge Mobile Radio and follow these steps to access the GPS function:
1. Press the "Key" button to select "GROUP".
2. Use the "Up" or "Down" keys to select "MENU" and press the "Key" button.
3. Press the "Key" button again.
4. Press the "Key" button once more.
The screen will display the GPS data.
