To set up and test the LT3462ES6 and LT3462AES6 inverting DC/DC converters, follow the quick start procedure provided in the user guide:
1. Place both ON/OFF jumpers in the ON position.
2. With the power off, connect the 5V input power supply to VIN and GND. Connect the load between VOUT and GND. Set the load current at 0A (minimum).
3. Turn on the power at the input. Make sure the input voltage does not exceed 5.5V.
4. Check for the proper output voltages. The output voltage should be between -4.85V and -5.15V.
- If there is no output, temporarily disconnect the load to ensure it is not set too high.
5. Once the proper output voltages are established, adjust the loads within the operating range and observe the output voltage regulation, ripple voltage, efficiency, and other parameters.
For proper measurement equipment setup, refer to Figure 1 in the user guide. When measuring the input or output voltage ripple, ensure that the oscilloscope probe has a short ground lead and is directly connected across the Vin or Vout and GND terminals.
