To install the CHAMELEON ANTENNA Multi-Band Pocket antenna, follow these steps:
1. Select a suitable installation site for the antenna.
2. Tie a length of Paracord to the Suspension Loop on the antenna.
3. If using a telescoping pole, attach the Feed Point Unit to the pole.
4. Unwind the Antenna Wires in the general directions they will be installed.
5. Connect the Coaxial Cable to the BNC Connector on the bottom of the Feed Point Unit.
6. Raise the Feed Point Unit to the desired height and secure the free end of the Paracord.
7. If using a telescoping pole, use two legs of the antenna as guys and attach a length of Paracord to the pole for the third guy line.
8. Secure the free ends of the Paracord to the end supports, ensuring the antenna wires have a slight sag.
9. Connect the Coaxial Cable to your radio set and perform an operational test.
To recover the antenna, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the Coaxial Cable from the radio set.
2. Lower the antenna to the ground.
3. Disconnect the Coaxial Cable from the Matching Transformer / Feed Point Unit and reinstall the protective cap on the BNC Connector.
4. Carefully roll the Coaxial Cable without twisting it.
5. Neatly roll up the Paracord (it can be left tied to the Suspension Loops).
6. Neatly roll up the Antenna Wires and secure them using Velcro Straps.
7. Inspect the antenna components for signs of wear and remove any dirt.
8. Place all antenna components into a carry bag for storage and future deployments.
