Yes, the GE GFV55ESSN dryer can be installed in an alcove or closet as long as it is properly exhausted to the outside. The minimum clearances between the dryer cabinet and adjacent walls or surfaces are 0" on all sides and top. If the closet contains both a washer and a dryer, the closet doors must have a minimum of 120 sq. in. of open area equally distributed. It is important to note that no other fuel-burning appliance should be installed in the same closet with a gas dryer.
