To install the Harbor Breeze 42852 Crestwell Ceiling Fan, follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to turn off the power by removing fuses or turning off the circuit breakers.
2. Ensure that the installation site allows a minimum clearance of 7 ft. from the blades to the floor and at least 30 in. from the end of the blades to any obstruction.
3. Begin by assembling the fan components according to the instruction manual. Make sure all parts are present and compare them with the package contents list and hardware contents list.
4. Install the mounting bracket (part A) securely to the outlet box using screws and washers provided with the outlet box. Ensure the bracket is properly grounded or that a ground wire is present.
5. Raise the fan and place the canopy (part B) on the hook on the mounting bracket, temporarily leaving hands free for the wiring process.
6. Connect the supply wires from the outlet box to the fan wires according to the diagram provided in the manual. Ensure proper wire connections and use wire connectors designed for the specified wire gauge.
7. Wrap electrical tape around the wire connectors to secure them and turn the spliced/taped wires upward, pushing them into the outlet box.
8. Slide the canopy over the mounting bracket, aligning the slotted holes in the canopy with the mounting bracket screws. Twist the canopy clockwise to lock it in place and securely tighten all screws.
9. Insert the blades through the slots in the motor assembly and secure them with the provided blade screws and washers.
10. Install the fitter plate and light pan, connecting the wires properly according to the instructions. Tighten all screws.
11. Attach the light kit and glass bowl, ensuring they are securely in place.
12. Install the remote control wall bracket if desired, and insert the battery into the remote control.
13. Turn on the circuit breakers and the wall switch to the fan supply line leads.
14. The fan is now ready to operate using the remote control. Refer to the operating instructions in the manual for details on how to use the remote control functions.
