To adjust the water level in the tank, follow these steps:
1. Flush the toilet to drain most of the water from the tank.
2. Turn off the water supply and use a sponge or towel to soak up any excess water in the tank.
3. Twist the fill valve to adjust its height so that the top of the fill valve cap measures roughly 3 inches above the top of the overflow pipe when installed.
4. Install the new fill valve by pushing the refill tube onto the refill port, attaching the refill clip to the other end of the refill tube, and inserting the fill valve into the tank.
5. Attach the refill clip to the overflow pipe.
6. xxxx the locknut onto the fill valve shank below the tank, hand-tightening only.
7. Attach the water supply connector to the fill valve, twisting it to the right, and hand-tighten it.
8. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks.
9. Adjust the tank water level by flushing the toilet and observing the water level in the tank. If it is too low, turn the tank water level adjustment xxxx clockwise to raise the float. If it is too high, turn the water level adjustment xxxx counterclockwise to lower the float.
10. To adjust the bowl water level, fill the bowl with a gallon of water and wait for the water level to recede. Mark the water level in the bowl with a pencil. Flush the toilet and check if the water level matches the marked line. If it is too high or too low, repeat the adjustment process until the water level matches the line when the fill valve shuts off.
11. Finally, flush the toilet to test the adjustments.
Please note that overtightening the nuts or tank/bowl may cause cracking, and the use of in-tank drop-in toilet bowl cleaners containing bleach or chlorine can damage the tank components and void the warranty.
