To install the Horchow LWDO0538 52-in Silver Indoor Chandelier Ceiling Fan with Remote, follow these steps:
1. Before beginning installation, switch off the electricity at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
2. Ensure that all wiring is done in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local electrical codes. It is recommended to have a qualified licensed electrician perform the electrical installation.
3. Make sure the outlet box and support structure are securely mounted and capable of supporting the weight of the fan (35 lbs or 15.9 kg). Use UL listed outlet boxes marked "Acceptable for Fan Support of 35 lbs or less."
4. The fan must be mounted with a minimum clearance of 7 ft (2m) from the trailing edge of the blades to the floor.
5. Do not operate the reversing switch while the fan blades are in motion. Turn off the fan and stop the blades before reversing the blade direction.
6. Avoid placing objects in the path of the blades.
7. Use caution when working around or cleaning the fan to avoid personal injury or damage to the fan.
8. If using light kits that are not packed with the fan, ensure they are UL-listed and suitable for use with the specific model of the fan. Use UL General Use Switches for switches. Refer to the instructions provided with the light kits and switches for proper assembly.
9. After making electrical connections, turn spliced conductors upward and push them carefully into the outlet box. Spread the wires apart with the grounded conductor and equipment-grounding conductor on one side of the outlet box.
10. Check and retighten all setscrews before installation.
11. Do not bend the blade brackets during assembly or after installation. Do not insert objects in the path of the blades.
12. Remove the rubber motor stops on the bottom of the fan before installing the blades or testing the motor.
13. Do not use the fan with any solid-state speed control device to avoid the risk of fire or electric shock.
14. Turn off the electricity at the main fuse box before wiring to avoid possible electrical shock. If you are unsure about your electrical wiring knowledge or experience, contact a licensed electrician.
15. Ensure any optional light kit used is UL-listed and suitable for use with the fan.
16. Mount the fan to an outlet box marked "Acceptable for fan support of 35 lbs or less" and use the screws provided with the outlet box.
