To collect blood using the NucleoProtect VET Blood Tube, follow these steps:
1. Remove the protective cap from the NucleoProtect VET Blood Tube.
2. Attach a standard Luer cannula to the Luer cone of the tube.
3. Insert the cannula into the vein and carefully pull the piston rod until it is fixed in the detent.
4. Hold the tube below the puncture site and wait for the blood flow to stop completely.
5. After blood sampling, remove the NucleoProtect VET Blood tube with the cannula from the vein.
6. Remove the cannula from the tube and dispose of it in a designated container.
7. Place the protective cap back on the NucleoProtect VET Blood tube and close it tightly.
8. Break off the piston.
9. Gently invert the blood sample at least five times to ensure thorough mixing with the NucleoProtect VET reagent.
10. Store or prepare the sample for transport.
Note: Before attaching the cannula, check for any liquid accumulation in the Luer cone and remove it if necessary. Make sure the reagent does not come into contact with animal or human skin or eyes. Do not use the NucleoProtect VET Blood Tube if the liquid accumulation protrudes beyond the Luer cone outlet or if there is a liquid accumulation on the cannula tip after it has been placed on the tube.
