To install the UNIWATT UCG UCG4002 Ceiling Fan Heater, follow these steps:
1. Positioning the Fan Heater:
- Leave a minimum of 24 inches (60 cm) of free space under the unit and 12 inches (30 cm) on each side of the unit to avoid overheating and fire hazards.
- Do not install the unit in damp areas or areas containing flammable liquids, combustible materials, or corrosive, abrasive, chemical, or explosive products.
- Install the heater in an open area at least 8 ft (2.44 m) from the floor and at a maximum height of 10 ft (3 m).
- Ensure that objects or furniture near the heater can withstand the heat it gives off.
2. Attaching the Mounting Bracket:
- Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling structure using two No. 8 round-head screws (not included).
3. Attaching the Unit to the Mounting Bracket:
- Locate the anchor point below the unit.
- Attach the fan heater to the bracket by inserting the hook on the installation bracket into the anchor point. The hook is designed to support the unit during installation, leaving your hands free.
4. Connecting the Electrical Wires:
- If necessary, strip the power cable wires using a cable stripper.
- Connect the wires of the power cable to those of the unit according to the instructions in the provided diagram.
- Tighten the twist-on wire connectors firmly on the wires to ensure a secure connection.
- Place all the wires in the junction box and replace the cable clamp plate, making sure to run the power cable through one of the strain reliefs of the junction box cover. Tighten the xxxx to hold the cover in place.
5. Attaching the Cover:
- Make sure the xxxx at the end of the bracket is half-screwed.
- Grasp the unit firmly with both hands and pivot it towards the ceiling.
- Press the unit firmly against the ceiling.
- Push the unit to the hook side of the installation bracket using both hands. Make sure the unit is stable before releasing it.

6. Restoring Power:
- Restore power to the ceiling fan heater. Make sure it works by increasing the thermostat temperature set point until the unit starts to heat.
- If you are using a wall thermostat, switch it to fan heater mode as soon as you restore power. If the thermostat remains in baseboard mode, the fan heater will operate intermittently and may overheat.
