To properly install the UNIWATT UGB0502W Electric Baseboard, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the power supply before starting the installation.
2. Remove the junction box cover and one of the knockouts in the wiring compartment.
3. Install a cable clamp connector in the knockout hole.
4. Pull the power cable supply through the cable clamp connector, leaving at least 6 inches (15 cm) of wire leads.
5. Connect the grounding wire firmly with the green xxxx provided.
6. Connect the baseboard and power supply wires according to the connection diagram. Make sure the connections are secure by tightening the wires into the twist-on connectors.
7. xxxx the junction box cover back on.
8. Attach the baseboard to the wall using at least four mounting holes. If no studs are available, anchors may be required. Do not over tighten.
9. Ensure that the baseboard is properly installed before use. Do not touch the fins as they are sharp and may cause cuts.
10. Once a year or as required, use a damp cloth and non-abrasive dish soap to remove any dust build-up. All other servicing should be done by qualified service personnel.
11. Before cleaning, make sure the power has been turned off at the circuit breaker panel and wait until the elements have cooled before cleaning the unit or removing the front cover.
12. If the unit is installed in a dusty area, use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust.
13. Replace the front cover if it was removed.
14. Restore power at the circuit breaker.
