Cleaning and descaling the Retro Stylance M Electric Kettle is important to maintain its performance and prolong its lifespan. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to clean and descale the kettle:
1. Cleaning:
- Remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the kettle to cool down.
- Clean the exterior of the kettle with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the appliance in water or put it in a dishwasher.
- If the interior of the kettle is severely discolored, use a damp cloth and a little washing soda to clean it. Rinse it thoroughly after cleaning.
- Do not use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects to clean the appliance.
2. Descaling:
- Remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the kettle to cool down.
- The kettle is equipped with a descaling filter. Press the filter inward through the spout to remove it.
- Fill the kettle with a vinegar solution up to the MAX level and bring it to a boil.
- Leave the kettle with the vinegar solution to stand for a couple of hours.
- Empty the kettle, fill it with clean water up to the MAX level, and bring it to a boil. Empty the kettle. Repeat this process twice.
- Do not use ammonia or other products to descale the appliance. Use only a vinegar solution or special descaling agents available from retailers.
- Place the filter back through the top opening and click it onto the spout.
