To ensure proper communication and functionality, it is essential to house code the Red Smoke Alarm Controllers with other smoke alarms in the system. The Red device uses a "Master-Subordinate" Pairing Method for house coding. Here are the steps to house code the system:
A) Wireless interconnect by setting up the Controller as the master:
1. Press and hold the House Code button (H CODE) on the back of the controller until the Red LED lights up, then release. This makes the controller the "master" device, and all other smoke alarms become subordinate devices.
Note: The House Coding Mode on the controller will be active for 2 minutes 30 seconds. After this period, House Coding mode will turn off automatically.
2. House code all other Red Smoke Alarms models in the system by pressing the Pairing button on each smoke alarm. Refer to the instruction manuals for details on how to house code the smoke alarms.
3. If the house coding is completed within the 2 minutes 30 seconds, you can use a screwdriver to press the House Code (H.CODE) button once. The 'fire' LED on the front of the controller will turn off, indicating that the House Coding mode is turned off.
Note: The Controller has a House Code memory function, so all house coded devices will remain wirelessly interconnected. If you haven't completed the interconnection of all smoke alarms within the House Coding period, repeat from Step 1 for the remaining devices.
B) Wireless interconnect by setting the controller as the subordinate device:
1. Press and hold the Pairing button on the back of the wireless smoke alarm until the Red LED lights up, then release. This smoke alarm becomes the "master" device, and the controller and other Red Smoke Alarms become the "subordinates."
2. To interconnect the controller to the master, turn on the power switch and use a screwdriver to press the House Code button (H.CODE) on the back of the controller twice. The red 'fire' LED on the controller will flash 5 times, indicating successful connection. Now, the controller is interconnected with the "master" smoke alarm.
It is important to follow these steps to ensure proper wireless interconnection and communication between the Red Smoke Alarm Controllers and other smoke alarms in the system.
