To install the GE 93130503 Cync Pro Pack Smart Illuminated Touch Light Switch, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the power: Before starting the installation, turn off the power for the switch location at the circuit breaker box. Test the existing switch by toggling it on/off to ensure that the lights do not turn on.
2. Remove your old switch: Remove the existing wall plate and switch from the wall. Use a voltage tester on the black wires to confirm that the power to the switch is off. Before disconnecting the wires from the wall, label each wire. Note that a neutral wire and a ground wire are required for compatibility.
3. Connect the wires: Connect the neutral (white) wire on the switch to the neutral (white) wire from the wall. Connect the line (black) wire on the switch to the line (black labeled) wire from the wall. Connect the load (red) wire on the switch with the load (red labeled) wire from the wall. Connect the ground (green) wire on the switch with the ground (green) wire from the wall. Cap the 3-way/multi-way traveler wire if applicable.
4. Fit wires into wall box: Neatly push the wires back into the box, rotating the switch so it's oriented according to the image.
5. Secure the switch: Using a Phillips screwdriver and the provided screws, secure the switch to the wall until it is level and flush. xxxx on a standard paddle-style wall plate (not included).
6. Turn the power back on: After the switch is secured and the faceplate is mounted, turn the power back on at the circuit breaker box. The light ring indicator on the switch will flash blue, indicating that the device is wired correctly and in setup mode. The light ring will flash blue until the switch is added to the Cync App. If the Wi-Fi is disconnected, the light ring will flash red. If the switch is wired incorrectly, the light ring will not illuminate.
If the lights don't turn on after installation, check that the air gap switch is depressed. Also, verify that power to the switch is on at the breaker. If needed, turn off the power at the breaker and return to the switch to confirm that the wires are securely and properly wired according to the installation guide.
