To install or change the bandsaw blade on the HILTI SB 4-22 Cordless Portable Band Saw, follow these steps:
1. Slacken the 2 screws securing the blade cover and remove the cover.
2. Turn the side handle counterclockwise to unscrew it from the casing of the bandsaw.
3. Pivot the clamping lever through 180° in the direction of rotation until it is seated against the stop. The side handle has to be removed to allow the clamping lever to pivot.
4. Slip the bandsaw blade into the cutting guide and into the blade guides, one after the other. The back of the blade must touch the bearings in the bottom of the blade guides.
5. Note the direction of rotation indicator arrows on the bandsaw blade and the bandsaw. They must point in the same direction.
6. Slip the bandsaw blade over both rollers, one after the other.
7. Pivot the clamping lever through 180° in the direction of rotation until it is seated against the stop.
8. Check that the bandsaw blade is correctly seated by repeatedly switching the bandsaw on and then off again.
9. Refit the blade cover and make sure that it is correctly seated.
10. Install the side handle by screwing it into the corresponding tapped hole in the casing of the bandsaw.
