The Edge-core EAP104 can be mounted in three different ways: on a wall junction box, on a wall without a junction box, or using the optional desktop stand. Here are the steps for each mounting option:
1. Mounting on a Wall Junction Box:
- Secure the mounting bracket to the wall junction box using two screws, ensuring that the bracket is installed with the marking "UP" at the top.
- Connect the Ethernet cable from the junction box to the Uplink (PoE) RJ-45 port on the rear of the device. This port provides power to the unit when connected to a PoE source.
- Place the AP over the bracket with its ports facing down and slide it down until it is in its secured position.
- Use the included security xxxx to secure the bracket to the AP.
- Optionally, you can connect a local LAN switch or computers to the LAN1 to LAN4 1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports.
2. Mounting on a Wall Without a Junction Box:
- Mark four holes on the wall using the mounting bracket, ensuring that the bracket is installed with the marking "UP" at the top.
- Drill four holes for the wall plugs and insert the plugs, tapping them flush with the wall surface.
- Use the included short Ethernet cable to connect the Uplink (PoE) port to the Pass-Thru port on the rear of the device. This will provide power to the unit when the Pass-Thru port is connected to a PoE source on the bottom of the device.
3. Mounting Using the Optional Desktop Stand:
- Slide the AP onto the desktop mounting bracket and place it on the desktop.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from a PoE source to the Uplink (PoE) RJ-45 port on the rear of the AP. Alternatively, you can connect an Ethernet cable from a PoE source to the Pass-Thru port on the bottom of the device and then use the included short Ethernet cable to connect the Uplink (PoE) port to the Pass-Thru port on the rear of the device.
- Optionally, you can connect a local LAN switch or computers to the LAN1 to LAN4 1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports.
