Setting up the HILTI POS 180 Robotic Total Station correctly is essential for safe and accurate operation. Here are the step-by-step instructions to set up the total station:
1. Choose a suitable location: Find a stable and level surface to set up the total station. Ensure that the area is free from obstructions and provides a clear line of sight for measurements.
2. Attach the total station to a tripod: Securely attach the total station to a tripod using the tripod lock. Make sure the total station is stable and level on the tripod.
3. Center the circular bubble level: Use the tripod footscrews to adjust the position of the total station until the circular bubble level displayed on the screen is centered. This ensures that the total station is properly leveled.
4. Set up over a mark: Place the total station over a marked point on the floor or ground. This mark will serve as a reference point for measurements and can be used to fall back on if there are any measurement deviations.
5. Turn on the total station: Press the power button on the control panel or controller to turn on the total station. Wait for the total station to initialize and calibrate.
