To update the firmware on your METER ENVIRONMENT Digital Sensors using the ZENTRA Utility app on a laptop, please follow these steps:
1. Launch the ZENTRA Utility app on your laptop.
2. Connect your laptop to the EM60 or ZL6 data logger using the micro USB cable.
3. Make sure that the sensor(s) you want to update are plugged into the data logger.
Note: The firmware update will only work for sensors with an SDI-12 address of 0. If your sensors have a different address, you will need to temporarily change it to 0 using the Digital Sensor Terminal in ZENTRA Utility.
Precaution: Write down the SDI-12 address for each sensor before changing it so that you can restore them after the update.
4. Scan the sensor to make sure it is functioning properly.
Note: A sensor with an SDI-12 address other than 0 will not respond, which is normal behavior. The factory default address for METER digital sensors is 0.
5. Go to the "Help" menu and select "Update sensor Firmware."
6. Click on "Choose Firmware Image" and navigate to the location where you saved the firmware image file provided by METER Support.
7. Press "Update Now" and the firmware updater will take care of the rest.
8. The update process may take a few minutes to complete, and you should receive progress reports during the update.
9. When the update is finished, you will see a box declaring "Sensor FOTA Success." Click "OK" to complete the process.
Note: If you are using a ZL6 with firmware version 2.07 or lower, there is a bug that may incorrectly declare the update as successful. Always double-check the firmware version of your sensor after the update.
You can find the firmware version of your sensor by going to the Settings menu and selecting "Sensor Configuration." The firmware version will be listed beneath the sensor type.
If the firmware update failed, please follow the instructions provided in the manual to successfully update your sensor firmware.
