Sure! Here are the step-by-step instructions for installing the Harbor Breeze 42857 Brushed Nickel Indoor Ceiling Fan:
1. Before you begin, make sure to turn off the circuit breakers and wall switch to the fan supply line leads.
2. Determine the mounting method to use based on your ceiling height and type. The options are Standard Mounting for ceilings 8 ft. or higher, and Angle Mounting for angled or vaulted ceilings.
3. Ensure that the blades will be at least 30 inches from any obstructions and that the downrod length will provide at least 7 ft. of clearance from the floor.
4. Loosen all four preassembled mounting bracket screws and completely remove the two mounting bracket screws from the round holes of the canopy. Set them aside for later use. Turn the canopy counterclockwise to detach the mounting bracket from the canopy.
5. Attach the mounting bracket to the outlet box using the screws and washers provided with the outlet box. Make sure the bracket is securely attached.
6. Loosen the four fitter plate screws preassembled to the fitter plate. Turn the orange shipping block counterclockwise and remove it. Discard the shipping block.
7. If you are using the Standard Mounting method, remove the downrod clip and downrod pin from the downrod. Partially loosen the set screws in the yoke at the top of the motor assembly.
8. Insert the downrod through the canopy and yoke cover, and feed the wires from the fan through the downrod. Slide the downrod into the yoke, align the holes, and re-install the downrod pin and downrod clip. Secure with the set screws. Use the 36-inch lead wire if necessary for longer downrods.
9. Make the necessary wire connections according to the diagram and instructions provided. Ensure that the white (neutral) and black (hot) supply wires are connected properly.
10. Install the ball end of the downrod into the opening of the mounting bracket, aligning a slot in the ball with the tab in the mounting bracket. The downrod should not rotate if installed properly.
11. Connect the 3-pin connector extending from the downrod to the 3-pin connector on the lead wire. Connect the green/bare (ground) supply wire to the green wires from the downrod and mounting bracket.
12. Align the canopy over the mounting bracket screws and rotate it clockwise. Secure the canopy with the mounting bracket screws. Tighten all screws securely.
13. Attach the fitter plate to the light pan using the fitter plate screws. Re-install the previously removed fitter plate xxxx and tighten firmly.
14. Align the twist-lock connector of the medallion with the corresponding slot in the blade. Place the blade over the twist-lock connector and lift the medallion and blade until flush with the underside of the blade arm. Rotate the twist-lock connector to secure. Repeat for the remaining blades.
15. Connect the 9-pin connector from the fan to the 9-pin connector from the light kit. Secure the light kit with the light pan screws.
16. Attach the pull chain extensions to the fan and light pull chains, if applicable.
17. Turn on the power supply to the fan.
