To install the OSS-PCIe-ECA-x8-G3 PCIe x8 Gen3 Embedded Cable Adapter, please follow the steps below:
1. Safety Precautions:
- Always use caution when handling electrical components.
- Read and follow the safety guidelines provided in the manual to prevent damage to the product and ensure personal safety.
2. Hardware Requirements:
- Make sure you have the necessary hardware for installation:
- OSS x8 Host Adapter Card (Model: OSS-PCIe-HIB25-x8)
- One OSS x8 iPass cable
- ATX Power Supply (with 24pin connector)
- Gen3 x16 PCIe slot (computer motherboard)
3. Install the Host Adapter Card:
- Plug the OSS x8 Host Adapter Card into the PCIe slot of your computer's motherboard.
- Ensure that you install it in a PCIe x16 or x8 Gen2 or Gen3 slot and secure it with a xxxx .
4. Connect the x8 Cable:
- Use an x8-to-x8 iPass cable to connect the Host Adapter Card to the OSS-PCIe-ECA-x8-G3.
- Insert the cable connector into the connector shell on the board until the connector teeth snap securely into the holes in the cable shell.
5. Connect the Cable to the ECA-X8 Board:
- Connect the other end of the cable to the host adapter card.
6. Install the PCIe Card:
- Plug in the add-in card or PCIe card into the available IO x16 slot (Endpoint slot) of the ECA-X8 board.
7. Connect the ATX Power Supply:
- Plug in the ATX power supply cable into the 24pin ATX power connector on the ECA board.
- Ensure that the power supply is connected and turned on.
8. Turn On the Host Computer:
- Turn on the host computer or server.
9. Verify Hardware:
- Check the LEDs on the host card and ECA board to verify that the hardware is working properly.
- A working ECA board will have three solid green LEDs, including the 3AUX GOOD LED.
