To install the SMARTWITNESS KP2 Video Telematics Camera, follow these steps:
1. Review the package contents and make sure you have all the necessary components.
2. Clean the window where you plan to mount the camera using the provided alcohol pads. Allow time for it to dry.
3. Remove the backing from the mounting bracket and press it evenly against the glass. Hold it in place for 30 seconds to ensure a secure attachment.
4. Apply the cable clips to the windshield and slide the bracket power cable into the clips.
5. Tuck the cable behind the weather stripping and push the stripping in to secure it.
6. Connect the terminal at the end of the bracket cable to the smaller end of the optional OBDII adapter cable (sold separately).
7. Plug the other end of the OBDII adapter cable into your vehicle's OBDII port.
8. Turn on your vehicle and check that both the blue and green lights on the camera remain on after 5 minutes. If they do not, there may be an error.
9. Scan the QR code provided in the package and download the iOS or Android KP2 installation app.
10. Open the KP2 installation app and scan the IMEI code on the box's label.
11. Follow the prompts in the app to complete the installation process.
12. Ensure that the IMEI code displayed in the app matches the IMEI code of your device. If there is no match, contact SmartWitness Support.
13. Read the instructions in the app to understand more about the "Horizon" and "Hood" lines of your vehicle. There is a video walk-through available for assistance.
14. Select the driver's side of the vehicle as your KP2 camera configuration and set the "Horizon" and "Hood" lines accordingly.
15. If you make any adjustments to the camera, tap "Refresh Images" to update the camera images.
16. Use the arrows to adjust the "Horizon" and "Hood" lines, ensuring that the "Hood" line is in the bottom one-fourth of the image. Tap "Next" to save the lines.
17. Choose your preferences for in-cabin alerts, volume level, and activation of different ADAS and DSM events. If you are unsure about a setting, tap the info icon for more information.
18. Pay attention to the "Camera Height" setting and enter an even interval value (e.g., 190 cm).
19. After making all the necessary changes and activating the desired features, tap "Confirm" to save your configuration.
20. On the home screen of the app, you will see a success message confirming that your KP2 is ready to use.
