To install the BEHLER-YOUNG AG-KGAPC-03 Lower Amp Kit, follow these steps:

1. Ensure safety: Before starting the installation, read the entire instruction manual and follow all safety considerations, including wearing safety glasses, protective clothing, and work gloves. Have a fire extinguisher available.

2. Unit Shut Down: Turn off the gas and electrical supplies to the furnace and install a lockout tag before performing any maintenance or service. Set the room thermostat to the lowest setting or "OFF." Disconnect power at the external disconnect, fuse, or circuit breaker. Turn off the gas at the external shut-off or gas meter. Remove outer doors.

3. Install the Power Choke: Locate the existing holes on the front of the blower housing that will be used to mount the power choke. Pre-install the provided screws and then remove them. Align the hole in the mounting tab of the power choke with the bottom hole in the blower housing. Install the xxxx but do not fully tighten it. Rotate the power choke so the other mounting tab is aligned with the top hole in the blower housing. Install and tighten the top xxxx , then tighten the bottom xxxx .

4. Wire the Power Choke: Locate the 115 VAC black wire that runs from L1 on the control board to the blower motor. Disconnect the wire at the connector on the middle of the wire. Connect each wire of the power choke to the appropriate mating end of the black wire. Route the wires away from sharp edges.

5. Apply New Max Unit Amps Label: Locate the Unit Rating Plate on the inside of the blower door. Affix the new label below the Unit Rating Plate. Sign the label in the block provided on the label.

6. Unit Checkout: Follow the instructions provided in the manual for the unit checkout process, including checking for gas leaks, initiating a component test, and verifying proper furnace operation.
