The Proctor Silex 33563 6QT Double Dish Slow Cooker allows you to cook two different recipes at the same time using the double dish feature. To use this feature, you need to add 2 to 3 cups of water to the 6 quart crock before adding food to the double dish vessels. It is important to use the crock when using the double dish vessels to prevent damage to the slow cooker. If the double dish vessels are floating in the crock, you should reduce the amount of water in the crock to prevent them from floating. It is recommended to choose recipes with similar cook times when using the double dish feature, as both vessels need to be in the crock during cooking. If you are only cooking in one vessel, fill the other vessel with 2 to 3 cups of water. Do not add water to the base of the slow cooker.
