To set up the LANCOM 1790VA-4G device for initial start-up, follow these steps:
1. Connect the power supply to a power socket using the provided IEC cable or the external power supply unit.
2. If your device has an integrated DSL modem, connect the G.FAST / VDSL / ADSL interfaces to a TAE socket using suitable cables.
3. Use suitable cables or modules to connect other required device interfaces to other components. For devices with mobile radio and/or Wi-Fi interfaces, connect any supplied antennas.
4. Depending on the device equipment, choose one of the following configuration methods:
a) Configuration via the local network: Connect one of the ETH or LAN interfaces of the device via an Ethernet cable to a network switch or directly to the network device intended for configuration.
b) Configuration via the serial interface of a connected computer: Connect a serial configuration cable from the network connector to the CONFIG or COM interface of the device.
c) Configuration via the USB interface of a connected computer: Connect a USB-C connection cable from the USB interface to the CONFIG interface of the device.
5. Once all connections are made, choose one of the following three start-up options:
Option 1: Configuration via web browser (WEBconfig): Access the device's IP address (e.g., 172.23.56.254) from a computer with Auto DHCP function enabled using a web browser.
Option 2: Configuration via LANconfig software: Wait for the device to complete the booting process, then start the LANconfig software on your computer. The software will automatically find the unconfigured LANCOM device in the local network and start the setup wizard.
Option 3: Configuration via LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC): Follow the special requirements mentioned on the LANCOM website to configure the device via the LMC.
6. Follow the setup wizard (either through web browser, LANconfig, or LMC) to complete the initial configuration of the device.
7. If necessary, make further configurations using the available setup wizards.
