To install the wireless bridge for Niko Home Control, please follow the installation requirements and steps outlined in the user manual.
1. Position:
- Install at least one Zigbee® 230 V powered device on each floor to create a mesh network covering the entire building.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 2 m from other RF transmitters (e.g., Wi-Fi devices) or devices such as motors, pumps, electronic LED transformers, solar panel inverters, and home battery storage.
- Avoid installing the wireless bridge on a metal surface.
- Do not cover the product.
- Mount the wireless bridge outside of the (metal) electrical cabinet.
- Do not use with a USB extension cable.
- Mount the wireless bridge to the wall next to the cabinet.
2. Use the drilling template located in the package to mark the drilling holes.
3. Insert the USB cable in the cabinet and coil up the excess cable. Ensure that all cable inserts in the electrical cabinet are sealed off according to national installation rules.
4. Plug the wireless bridge into one of the free USB ports of the connected controller (550-00003). Do not remove/insert the USB cable while the connected controller is powered for safety reasons.
5. Fix the USB cable in the cabinet with the included tie wrap to avoid accidental unplugging of the wireless bridge from the connected controller. Maintain a minimum distance of 10 mm between the 230 V cabling and the wireless bridge's USB cable.
6. If you are in Belgium or the Netherlands, you have the option to connect your digital meter's P1 port to the wireless bridge. Use the shielded RJ12 cable included in the package and insert one end into the P1 port (not the S1 port!) and the other end into the wireless bridge. Contact your electricity network operator to activate the P1 port on your digital meter. Note that connecting the wireless bridge to the digital meter will override any global energy measuring channel in your Niko Home Control installation.
