To install the GE APPLIANCES JB480SM Free-standing Electric Radiant Smooth Cooktop Range, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have a locally approved flexible service cord or conduit, as the terminals will not be accessible after installation.
2. Locate the electrical outlet box. Refer to the shaded area in the provided drawing for the recommended outlet location. This allows the range to be installed directly against the wall.
3. Make sure to provide a 6" minimum spacing to surfaces less than 15" above the cooktop and adjacent cabinet. This helps reduce exposure to steam, grease splatter, and heat.
4. Before installation, consult the installation instructions for current dimensional data and additional requirements.
5. Check the KW rating of your electrical supply. The JB480SM range has a KW rating of 10.5 for 240V and 7.9 for 208V.
6. Determine the appropriate breaker size based on your electrical supply. The recommended breaker size is 40 Amps for both 240V and 208V. However, it is essential to check local codes for the required breaker size.
