To install the SALTO XS4 Panel Wall Reader, please follow these steps:
1. Determine the appropriate location: The panel reader is designed to be integrated behind lift panels, door intercoms, electric switches, turnstiles, or gates. Ensure that there is a window in the metal plate for the reader antenna operation.
2. Connect the cables: Use UTP Cat5e cables for the reader. For a maximum distance of 279ft (85m), use UTP Cat5e 2 pairs with AWG24. For a maximum distance of 853ft (260m), use UTP Cat5e 4 pairs with AWG24+. Alternatively, you can use twisted pairs for a maximum distance of 1312ft (400m) with AWG18.
3. Power supply: The panel reader requires a power supply. The power consumption of the reader is between 150mA (minimum) and 400mA (maximum). The installer must consider this data to dimension the power supply (e.g., CU42xx power supply). SALTO recommends using one cable per wall reader.
4. Integration with SALTO controller: The panel reader works in conjunction with a SALTO controller. Ensure that the panel reader is properly connected to the controller according to the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Installation examples: The manual provides installation examples for different scenarios, including the use of CU42xx and CU41xY controllers, as well as installation examples with RJ45 connectors. Refer to these examples for guidance on the installation process.
