Sure! Here is a step-by-step guide to help you install the FVCO TR0201B Transit Side Ladder HR:
1. Before starting the installation, inspect the product for any shipping damage. If there is any damage, contact the customer service department.
2. Familiarize yourself with the parts and hardware by checking the "Package Contents" page.
3. Gather the following tools for the installation:
- 9/16 box wrench or socket
- 7/32 hex key Allen wrench
- Power drill
- 1/8" drill bit
4. Place the ladder halves front side down and insert the couplers into one half. Tighten them down using the 1/4-20 screws. Use blue Loctite on the screws for added security.
5. Slide the other ladder half onto the couplers and tighten it down.
6. Loosely bolt the ladder to the ladder mount slots on the side of your low pro roof rack using two each of the 3/8-16 button head screws, 3/8 flat washers, and 3/8 nylock nuts. If you have an older version of the low pro roof rack, you may need to remove two sets of fasteners on the joining plate as they sit behind the ladder plate on older versions. Having an extra set of hands during this step is helpful.
7. If you have a Safari rack, the process is the same, but you'll be mounting to the ladder mount bracket underneath the Safari rack.
8. Take the mount plate and loosely attach it to the bottom of the ladder using two 3/8-16 x 1" button head screws, 3/8 flat washers, and 3/8-16 nylock nuts.
9. Attach the remaining 3/8 hardware through the wing of the mount plate and the lower body support of your van. Push the mount up and tighten down the bolts. Once the bolts are tight, drive in the 1/4 self-drilling screws into the pre-cut holes on the mount plate. Note that some vans may not have the lower holes needed to mount the bracket as shown. In that case, use the mount bracket as a template and drill a 1/2" hole in the body support. If you're having trouble driving the self-drilling screws in, an 1/8" pilot hole may be necessary.
10. Climb back up top, ensure the ladder is straight up and down, and tighten down the upper mounting bolts to the roof rack.
Once you have completed these steps, your FVCO TR0201B Transit Side Ladder HR should be securely installed on your vehicle. If you have any further questions or issues, don't hesitate to reach out to the customer support team at support@flatlinevanco.com or call 888-667-5576.
