To install the Belden Wall Sconce, follow these steps:
1. Carefully remove all parts from the box and place them on a clean, soft surface.
2. Remove the mounting plate (B) from the fixture body (E) by removing the screws (L).
3. Use the mounting plate (B) as a guide and line it up with the junction box. Mark the anchor positions.
4. Using a drill bit slightly smaller than the anchor, drill holes in the marked positions. Install anchors (A) into the holes using a hammer.
5. Install the mounting plate (B) to the junction box and secure it with mounting screws (D). Then, secure wood screws (C) to the anchors (A).
6. Remove the metal tabs (O) from the fixture frame (G) by removing the screws (P). Install the glass panels (K) and (J) to the fixture frame (G) and secure them with the metal tabs (O) using screws (P). Note: Do not overtighten, as it may damage the shade.
7. Wrap the fixture ground wire (green) around the green grounding xxxx . Tighten it. Continue the fixture ground wire and connect it to the supply ground wire (usually green or bare copper) using a wire nut (M). It is important to ensure that the fixture is properly grounded.
8. Connect the fixture neutral wire (white) to the supply neutral wire (usually white) using a wire nut (M).
9. Connect the fixture hot wire (black) to the supply hot wire (usually black) using a wire nut (M). Caution: Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections.
10. Make sure all wire connections are tight, then carefully tuck them into the junction box.
11. Install the fixture body (E) to the mounting plate (B) and secure it with screws (L).
12. Install the light bulb into the socket.
13. Install the fixture frame (G) to the fixture body (E) and secure it with thumbscrews (F).
For outdoor/wet location installation, apply a small bead of silicon compound where the backplate meets the wall to prevent water from entering. Note: Large gaps will need to be corrected before applying the silicon compound.
