To install the CEJN Safety Reel, it is recommended to have a qualified technician, such as an electrician, handle the installation. The cable reel has a thermal overload protector, so correct installation is crucial to avoid electrical shock. The reel has undergone function and quality tests according to SS-EN 61242_1997/A2_2016/C1 and SS-EN_61316. It is important to follow specific national installation regulations. The reel is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use with an IP44 rating. When replacing the plug, use a plug complying with IEC 60309-1 or IEC 60309-2, with a minimum of 10A and IP44 rating.
For operating the reel, pull out the cable to the desired length. To lock the cable, listen for the latch to engage with a "click" while slowly pulling out the cable a short distance. To unlock the cable and retract it, pull it out a short distance and listen for the latch to stop "clicking". Then, let the cable slowly retract into the housing.
The Safety Reel is designed with a sturdy centrifugal brake and a strong spring force, ensuring slow and firm retraction for a safe working environment. If the cable gets jammed during retraction, pull it out to its full length and let it retract freely without assistance. If further problems or malfunctions occur, contact your local distributor for guidance.
Regular maintenance is essential. Check the cable, cable guiding, and external parts for any damage or defects regularly.
