To install the SECO-LARM E-941Sx series electromagnetic lock, follow these steps:
1. Read the installation manual thoroughly to understand the product and installation process.
2. Determine the most suitable mounting location on the door frame near the upper corner of the door or as close as possible to the upper corner of the door frame opposite the hinges.
3. Use the provided mounting template to mark the hole locations on the door and frame.
4. Drill two holes in the frame and three holes in the door according to the template.
5. Tap the guide pins into the guide pin holes on the armature plate.
6. Depending on the type of door, drill additional holes as shown in the diagrams provided in the manual.
7. Place a rubber washer between two metal washers and place them over the armature xxxx between the armature plate and the door. This allows the plate to pivot to compensate for door misalignment.
8. Tighten the armature xxxx enough to withstand a break-in attempt but loose enough to allow slight pivot movement. Ensure the anti-spin guide pins are in the guide pin holes.
9. xxxx the two short self-tapping screws through the slotted holes in the mounting plate, keeping them loose for adjustment.
10. Once the position of the mounting plate is correct, use the four long self-tapping screws to permanently mount the plate.
11. Drill a cable access hole and run the power leads through it in the mounting plate and door frame.
12. Remove the cover from the front of the electromagnet and run the power leads through the large cable access hole.
13. Push the electromagnet against the mounting plate, ensuring the ends are flush with the ends of the plate. Use the provided hex wrench to xxxx the hex-head mounting screws through the bottom of the electromagnet into the mounting bracket.
14. Cut the wires to the appropriate length and set the voltage using the selection jumpers based on your input voltage.
15. Connect the power wires according to the wiring diagram provided in the manual.
16. Test the unit, replace the front cover, and install the hex-head tamper caps.
Note: Ensure that the installation complies with all national, state, and local laws and codes. It is recommended to consult a professional if you are unsure about any aspect of the installation process.
