To update the NEXPEAK NX501 OBD2 Auto Diagnostic Scanner, you will need a Windows PC or laptop with USB ports. Follow these steps:
1. Download the update application from the official NEXPEAK website or the distributor's site.
2. Connect the scanner to your computer using the USB cable provided.
3. Run the update application (uplink.exe) on your computer.
4. Press and hold any button on the scanner until the USB cable is connected to the computer. Release the button when the scanner displays "Update Mode."
5. In the uplink software, click on the "Check update" button to download the upgrade file from the internet and update the scanner automatically.
6. Wait for the update process to complete. Do not disconnect the USB connection during the update.
7. Restart the scanner to finish the update.
Note: If you made a wrong choice or the scanner is not working properly, you can force the scanner into update mode by holding the LEFT scroll button while powering on the scanner. Then follow the update procedure to refresh the program.
