To install the Bocci 14.16 Square Light, follow these steps:
1. Measure and mark the position of the light fixture canopy on the ceiling. Make sure to provide a robust 16mm (5/8") plywood backing or wood blocking to securely anchor the canopy to the structural substrate. The connections from the plywood to the structural substrate are the client's responsibility.
2. Anchor the plywood backing to the structural ceiling substrate.
3. Connect the power supplies to the line voltage. For Xenon (110V) or LED, connect the black wire to black and the white wire to white. For Xenon (230V), connect the black wire to brown and the white wire to blue. For the ground connection, connect the green wire with a yellow stripe to the bare copper wire or green wire in the junction box. Bocci recommends mounting power supplies remotely in an easily accessible and hidden location for long-term maintenance.
4. Anchor the canopy into the plywood backing using the provided fasteners.
5. Turn on the power to the fixture.
6. Carefully uncoil the braided coaxial cable in a spool-like manner. Insert your index fingers into opposite sides of the roll and rotate your fingers around each other to unroll the cable. Allow the cable to uncoil completely to avoid kinks.
7. The Bocci 14.16 Square Light comes with 10w Xenon or 1.5w LED lamps. Plug the lamp into the socket, making sure not to touch the lamp with your bare hands. Note that when using a dimmer, only use a low voltage electronic dimmer.
8. Each pendant terminates in a "headphone jack" type connector, which plugs into a receiving receptacle in the canopy. You can compose your own pendant configuration on-site to create a unique fixture. After plugging in each pendant, turn the threaded sheath into place by hand to ensure it is adequately tightened. No tools are required.
9. Check that each lamp is working properly by keeping the power to the fixture on and lamps plugged in.
10. Clean any fingerprints from the surfaces.
