To properly use the FIRMAN 2040 Parallel Cord with your FIRMAN inverter generators, please follow these steps:
1. Prepare two FIRMAN inverter generators following their respective operator's manuals.
2. Plug the two parallel cable pin connectors into the corresponding generator locations.
3. On each generator, unscrew the panel ground connecting nut and connect the green cable. Once the green ground wires are installed, retighten the ground connecting nut.
4. Following the generators' operator's manuals, start both generators.
5. Confirm that both "output indicator" lights are illuminated on the generators.
6. Securely plug your 125V electrical appliance into the parallel cord output receptacle and turn on the appliance.
It is important to note that the load requirement of the electrical appliance should not exceed the combined continuous output of the paralleled generators. Please refer to your generator(s) operator's manual for more information.
Additionally, do not connect or disconnect the parallel kit cables from the generators while they are running, as this can cause permanent damage not covered under warranty. Keep the parallel cord away from water, avoid overheating by not covering it with any material, and keep children and pets away from the cord.
If the generators become overloaded, remove all electrical loads from the generators by disconnecting all appliances from the parallel kit's receptacle and then determine and correct the cause of the overload. To reset the overload light, power down both generators and allow them to cool before following the restart procedure.
Before disconnecting the paralleling cords from each generator, make sure each generator has been turned off.
For more detailed information and safety instructions, please refer to the FIRMAN 2040 Parallel Cord User Manual.
