To clean and descale the Dr. Brown's AC045 Deluxe Electric Sterilizer, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the device and allow it to cool for 60 minutes before cleaning.
2. Remove the removable tray, tongs, and measuring cup from the unit.
3. Clean the removable tray, tongs, and measuring cup in hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
4. Clean the base exterior, heating chamber, and two covers with a damp sponge or cloth.
5. To clean the heating plate, follow these steps:
a. Unplug the device and remove the tray.
b. Prepare a descaling solution by mixing 3.5 oz/100 mL of white vinegar with cold water up to the dashed line (.5 oz/20 mL) in the measuring cup.
c. Pour the descaling solution directly over the heating element.
d. Turn on the unit and run a sterilization cycle.
e. Empty any remaining solution and rinse with clean water.
6. Do not use bleach, harsh abrasives, or solvents to clean the heating chamber or heating elements as they may cause permanent damage and void the warranty.
Note: The Dr. Brown's AC045 Deluxe Electric Sterilizer should be cleaned at least once a week when in regular use.
