To install the SENSTAR BR100 UltraWave microwave sensor, follow these steps:
1. Design the system and obtain the components required for installation.
2. Prepare the infrastructure and the detection zone. Ensure that the detection zone is straight, flat, and free of standing or running water, obstacles, and depressions.
3. Install the transmitter and receiver units. The units are usually post-mounted, but they can also be surface-mounted if needed.
- For post-mount installation:
- Attach the mounting bracket to the BR100 unit using the supplied hardware.
- Pass the gear clamp through the slots in the mounting bracket.
- Secure the gear clamp to the mounting post at the specified mounting height.
- Aim the transmitter directly at the receiver and vice versa.
- Mount the units with a 5º pitch toward the ground if they are separated by 50 m or less.
- For surface-mount installation:
- Remove the mounting bracket and mark the mounting holes on the surface.
- Drill the holes and attach the mounting bracket.
- Attach the BR100 unit to the mounting bracket.
- Ensure the units are aimed directly at each other and make minor horizontal alignment adjustments if needed.
4. Setup, calibrate, and test the system using the Universal Configuration Module (UCM) software. Connect the UCM to the receiver unit via micro-USB.
- Install the UCM software on a Windows-based computer by inserting the installation CD and following the prompts.
- Connect the UCM computer to the BR100 unit via USB.
- Start the UCM software and perform the necessary setup and calibration activities, such as specifying the frequency pair, network configuration (if applicable), auxiliary I/O configuration, aligning the transmitter and receiver, and specifying the receiver's thresholds.
